To get to Mount Takao, you need to take the Keio Line subway.

From Shinjuku Station, there are subways to Keio-Hachiōji Station and Takaosanguchi Station, so be sure to check the route carefully before boarding.

Getting from Shinjuku Station to Takaosanguchi Station involves a lot of subway stops, so taking the express train will get you there a little faster.

You may need to transfer at Kitano Station on the way from Shinjuku Station to Takaosanguchi Station, so using the Tokyo subway can be a bit nerve-wracking.

To get to Mount Takao, get off at Takaosanguchi Station and walk until you see Kiyotaki Station.

To descend from Mount Takao, you can take the chairlift or the mountain train.

You can reach Shinjuku Station by taking the Keio Line subway from Takaosan Station to Shinjuku Station.
