| [Norway] Day 4 of my trip to Norway |
On the fourth day of my trip to Norway, I checked the travel area today, made sure to bring my Bergen Card and map, had a light breakfast, and headed to Mt. Floyen. As expected of a city for children, the morning was clear and refreshing.
I was riding the train up to Mt. Floyen and looked outside, and saw the foggy Bergen city. When I reached the top of Mt. Floyen, Bergen was covered in fog and I couldn＇t see anything. I realized again that it was a coastal city with a lot of fog.
I got back on the train from Mt. Floyen and headed to the bus terminal to catch a bus. I got on the bus at the terminal, and I knew the name of the stop I had to get off at to go to composer Grieg＇s house, but I wasn＇t sure, so I was watching the bus stop. Suddenly, some elderly people asked the driver where they had to get off because they were going to Grieg＇s house. I got off at the same bus stop as the elderly people and started following them.
Composer Grieg is also famous for composing the music for Peer Gynt, a play by playwright Ibsen. Representative works include Solveig＇s Song, Morning Mood, and Ose＇s Death, all of which were composed for Peer Gynt＇s works. The guide who showed us around the inside of Grieg＇s house said that only a thief like 007 could enter Grieg＇s house. At first glance, it looked like even a novice thief could enter.
After looking around Grieg＇s house, we walked for about 30 minutes to get back in the car and took a bus to the Old Bergen Museum. The Old Bergen Museum was a museum that preserved the old appearance of Bergen. Most of the buildings were wooden. After touring the Old Bergen Museum, we returned to downtown Bergen and started touring Håkon Castle next to Bryggen.
It was amazing that the castle, which was more than half destroyed by many wars, was rebuilt so beautifully. To see the entire Bergen view, we went up to the tower of Håkon Castle and looked down at downtown Bergen. The quiet downtown Bergen came into view at a glance, but the city felt similar to Busan in Korea.
