[Finland] Day 1 of our family trip to Finland |
We decided to go to Finland, the land of fairy tales, with our sons.
There are Moomins, Angry Birds, and Santa Claus in Finland.
Our family headed to Incheon Airport early in the morning for our trip to Finland.
We arrived safely in Helsinki on Finnair from Incheon Airport.
The weather in Helsinki in early July was cool and windy.
When we got off the plane, an airport shuttle bus was waiting.
We got on the airport shuttle bus and got off at the airport exit.
At the airport exit, there was the airport security checkpoint, which can be said to be the most difficult, so we chose the line where there was a gentle male security checkpoint that seemed like it would finish the family quickly, but this was a wrong choice.
The line next to us was moving quickly, but our line took too long to be searched.
Luckily, it was our turn. The security checkpoint kept asking us questions like why we were here, when we were going, etc.
If we had come with the kids, it would have been a trip~~ The security checkpoint was so frustrating. After safely completing the inspection and coming out, it was past 4 o'clock.
I spent an hour at the security checkpoint.
I could have saved 30 minutes if I had come to the airport quickly and waited in line instead of getting off the plane and taking pictures. It was such a shame.
The thought of wasting time at the Helsinki airport kept lingering in my head, and this later brought about great misfortune.
While hurrying, my family bought a Helsinki 1Day Regional Ticket and took a train to Helsinki Airport. Suddenly, people weren't getting off, so I was curious and asked where it was going. They said it was an airport train to Pasila, so my family got off at Pasila Station and took a train to Helsinki Central Station, and arrived safely at Helsinki Central Station.
My family took the Helsinki tram and safely arrived at the hotel, and headed to our first travel destination, Suomenlinna Island.
On the boat to Suomenlinna Island, the Helsinki sea breeze felt so cold. I should have known to be careful of the Helsinki sea breeze at that time, but I didn't know at the time.
While on the boat to Suomenlinna Island, our family was having a good time taking pictures in the cabin.
As soon as we arrived at Suomenlinna Island, we headed to the Suomenlinna tourist information center. However, the tourist information center was closed because it was closed.
Leaving the regret behind, we walked around appreciating the beauty of Suomenlinna Island, took family pictures at nice spots, met some amazing sea birds, and finally arrived at the Suomenlinna Fortress on Suomenlinna Island, but the Helsinki sea breeze was blowing even harder.
Our family put the camera on the tripod to take a family picture, and the moment we posed for the picture, the tripod and camera fell over.
I hurriedly checked if the camera was okay, and the camera worked, but for some reason, it felt like a broken camera. I thought it would be okay, so I took pictures with my camera and it seemed okay. However, when I later imported the pictures from my camera to my computer and looked at them, I realized that most of my pictures from my trip to Finland were not good.
Fortunately, the pictures I took with my phone turned out well.
I saw Suomenlinna Fortress and King's Gate on Suomenlinna Island and had a great time with my family.
After taking the boat back to Helsinki, my family went to Koti Pizza, a famous Finnish pizza restaurant, for dinner. My sons ordered pepperoni pizza and my mom and dad ordered Americana pizza, which they enjoyed. We took the tram from Helsinki Cathedral and on the way back to the hotel, I heard that in Finland, you get a few cents if you put a PT bottle in the recycling machine, so I put a small PT bottle in the recycling machine and got a piece of paper with 20 cents written on it, and I prepared a snack for the next day, and the 20 cent paper also played the role of 20 cents.
This is how a day of my trip to Finland passed. From then on, if I hadn't used the broken camera, I could have taken many good pictures, but because I insisted on using the broken camera, I didn't get many good pictures.
