[Finland] Day 3 of our family trip to Finland |
The third day of our trip to Finland was a trip from Turku to Moomin World in Naantali.
We were waiting for bus number 6 or 7 from the Turku market to Naantali.
But when bus number 7 stopped at the bus stop, we told the bus driver that we were going to Naantali and got on the bus.
However, the bus did not leave right away, but left exactly 10 minutes later.
After about 30 minutes on bus number 7, we arrived at Naantali, but instead of going to the bus stop, it stopped at the stop before that, and everyone was getting off.
Suddenly, a friendly Finnish person told us that this was the last stop, so we had to get off early, so our family got off at Naantali and walked for about 20 minutes to Moomin World.
When we passed the Heshberger in Naantali and arrived at the Naantali tourist information center, my sons said they wanted to go to the bathroom.
I had to endure it for a while because it costs 1 euro to use a public restroom in Finland, and then I was told to go to Moomin World to solve it, but since I was in a hurry, I went to a public restroom near the Naantali tourist information center and it was free, so I was very happy.
After taking care of business, I crossed the bridge connecting Moomin World and Naantali and arrived at the Moomin World ticket office to buy the admission ticket. Most people show their online admission tickets and go in~~
Ah~~ I should have bought it online too because the family admission ticket is 116 euros if you buy it at the ticket office, but 108 euros if you buy it online.
Still, since I came all this way to Moomin World, I decided to have fun and went to the performance hall where the Moomin play was being held.
The performance had already started at the performance hall, so we took our seats and started watching the show.
It may seem like a boring performance, but if you go back to your childhood and watch the Moomin performance, it would be fun.
Most Moomin performances are in Finnish or Swedish, so I was able to do it by watching the English subtitles. I thought it would be nice if there were Korean subtitles later.
My sons said the show was so fun and wanted to see it again later when they had time.
After watching the show, we headed to Moomin House. There were a lot of people coming out of the show, and most of them were Finnish. Occasionally, we saw tourists. In front of Moomin House, the characters from the Moomin cartoon were hugging the children and looking so happy.
We also took pictures with Moomin, Moominpappa, Moominmamma, Snorkmaiden, Snufkin, My, and Sniff and had a great time. Moomin World is a great playground for children.
Now that our sons are a little older, they will like museums and concerts more than Moomin World, so I think it was a good decision to choose Finland, where children like to go on this trip.
It suddenly started to rain at Moomin World. We quickly escaped to a restaurant and had a simple pizza slice each. Each slice was huge and delicious.
After we finished eating pizza, the rain started to stop, so we went to see the Moomin show again.
While the kids were enjoying the show, I wanted to take a look around Moominworld alone, so I looked around Snufkin's Camp, Moominpappa's Ship, and Hemulen's Collection, and when I got to the show, the kids said it was so much fun, so I headed back to Moomin's house.
Moomin and his friends were singing and doing a small show at Moomin's house.
After having a great time at Moominworld in Naantali, we took bus number 7 back to Turku, where we went to the same restaurant where we had dinner last night. The kids had pepperoni pizza, and my wife and I had farafel salad. I thought farafel was a dish with unique spices in the meat, but after checking, I found out that farafel is a Middle Eastern croquette made with soybean dough, celery, and onions, fried.
The only place in Finland that served farafel in the breakfast buffet was the Turku Scandic Hotel.
Again, we bought ice cream in a box with a penguin picture at K-Supermart and ate it, and it was so delicious.
I learned that when buying products in Finnish supermarkets, you have to make sure that you buy the right product.
