[Norway] Day 2 of our family trip to Norway |
On the second day in Norway, I went straight to the Oslo Anker Hotel counter to buy the Oslo Pass and then had breakfast. When my sons were making a lot of noise, I got some cold stares from people around me, but I didn't care.
After breakfast, I went to Oslo Central Train Station to buy train tickets for Oslo-Voss, Voss-Bergen, and Stavanger-Oslo. Later, I bought the wrong ticket for Stavanger-Oslo and had to change it. The initial ticket price was 5,860 krone, but I think it was because my sons confused the staff at the ticket window.
After receiving the ticket, I said no and explained it, and they recalculated it and gave me 1,000 krone again. However, I later found out that it was wrong, so I went to Oslo Train Station to get the 1,000 krone again.
I led my family to the Oslo subway station. Of course, it was morning and the smell of beer was strong, but I kept going forward and waited for the subway, and I felt strange. I had to go to the opposite side and take the subway. I went to the opposite side and waited for subway number 1.
My wife got a little dizzy after taking subway number 1, but my sons looked excited.
Our family, who arrived at the Holmenkollen Ski Jumping Station subway station, walked hard to the ski jumping station. However, my second son asked me to take a bath, so I took a bath and went to the ski jumping station. When we arrived at the ski jumping station, we showed our Oslo Pass and headed to the top of the ski jumping station. When we got to the top by elevator, we could see the beautiful view of Oslo.
After touring the Holmenkollen Ski Jumping Museum, we headed to Oslo Central Train Station before going to the next tourist destination. When I arrived at Oslo Central Train Station, I explained my situation and changed my train ticket.
We took bus number 30 and headed to the Viking Ship Museum. After arriving at the Viking Ship Museum, my second son saw a seagull in the parking lot and chased it around trying to catch it. Then, my mom said, “Let's go see the Viking ship.” We showed our Oslo Pass and were about to go in, but she told us to go upstairs. So we went upstairs and tried to go in again, but she told us to do something. When I thought about it, she told us to get the admission ticket.
After safely entering the Viking ship museum, my sons were amazed by the Viking ship and said that it seemed different from Korean ships.
After finishing the tour, we were eating waffles at a Norwegian outdoor cafe, but didn't bees keep circling around? We quickly ate and left, but my second son kept threatening to catch a seagull, and got scolded by his mother. We then took bus number 30 and arrived at the Kon-Tiki Museum.
We came to see the Kon-Tiki ship, which was built by archaeologist Thor Heyerdahl and sailed from Peru to the South Pacific. When I told my sons that this was the Kon-Tiki ship that appeared in the Kon-Tiki storybook that my dad often read to them, my sons seemed amazed and asked me to tell them a story about the Kon-Tiki ship. While telling the story, we went down to the basement and saw the view under the Kon-Tiki ship, which showed whale sharks and many fish. My sons were excited and said, “Wow, that's great.”
After visiting the Kon-Tiki Museum, we went to the Fram Museum, where we showed our sons the huge ship that Nansen, the Nobel Peace Prize winner, personally sailed, but they found the children's play area in the Fram Museum more interesting than the ship.
My second son was on his way to see the Fram ship, but he suddenly started pressing something while saying the Korean flag. It turned out that it was possible to hear explanations in Korean during the information.
After seeing the Fram ship at the Fram Museum, we went to the cruise ship dock to tour the Oslo Fjord that flows through Oslo and go to the Oslo City Hall. While I was telling my children to stay still at the dock, I saw a couple trying to get in front of us, but we just gave in and got on the cruise ship.
I visited the Norwegian Nobel Peace Prize Museum for the last time, and my two sons and wife rested at the hotel, and I headed to the Oslo Chess Club. I met a friend at the Oslo Chess Club and played chess while chatting briefly. I lost all the games, but I had a great evening.
I told him to contact me next time he comes to Korea and ended my day in Oslo.
