Doam Seowon is the Seowon where Songam Kim Myeon was located.
Mr. Kim Myeon was born in Goryeong as the 7th generation descendant of Goyang Buwongun Hwi Namdeuk, the founder of the Goryeong Kim clan.
Teacher Kim Myeon became Gongjo Jwalang, the 6th rank, but he soon resigned and returned to Doam Seowon, where he devoted himself to the study of Neo-Confucianism and the education of later generations.
He participated in the Imjin War as a volunteer soldier in 1592 and defeated many Japanese troops, but died in Geumsan in 1593.
