[Greece] Orange trees in Sparta

If you take a bus from Athens to the city of Sparta, there are many orange trees on the streets. But what strange is that even though there are many oranges on the orange trees, no one takes the oranges. There were so many oranges that just fell to the ground and were thrown away. I wonder what the oranges in Sparta taste like.
